Foraging for mushrooms in a city landscape harkens back to my Ukrainian heritage, where foraging was essential to daily life as I explore these by increasing size and seeing what cannot be seen by the naked eye. Intuitive doors open with color and mystery in their structure. I set up these images in the traditional ‘Still Life’ format with backgrounds, objects, and light. I search for those doors into perceptions and tactile surfaces. I experiment with objects and elements trying to realize a new form of Visual Truth, authentic space, and connectives is my goal.
