togeTHER + apART
As a tandem team of Stefka Trusz and Dismas Rotta we endeavored to collaborate, allowing for innovation, risk taking, visual support and playfulness that would have never existed in our separate studios.
We examined the TIME-LINE of life, Zen-like moments of daily lives presented here as NATURE issues forth its beauty + decay. Showing the birth and slow ebb of life passing over into the HEART OF DARKNESS. With each viewer’s sense of life cycles, a codex of memories is attached to particular flowers, signs + symbols in the world.
Displayed here is the work that transformed us by being togeTHER + apART in the exhibition of Dual Visions. As Stefka and DiZ we found ourselves suitable opposites that created a body of work using old and new mediums/processes that harmonize when conjoined.
DIZ-agreements (sic) occurred between our authentic selves over boundaries, time usage and creating a common language. The gift received from this sojourn into uncharted space was that the conjoined pieces offer NEW possibilities not enjoyed before. The reward of this work led to a newfound endurance + confidence to move into new projects.
