encaustic
In 2014, I went back to painting some small works in encaustic. This method of working with hot wax on a hot surface of about 200 degrees allows me to loosen my style and forms. By switching to painting with wax and fire, I attain a defferent balance and PROCESS with my working style away from the mechanical process of scanning to explore a playful metamorphosis that is never exact. By still trying to embrace life’s birth to death cycle, I renew my understanding of Nature’s purpose, gain new insights and obtain a greater respect for being on the edge of unknowns.
